A male lion, right next to bars that are about 6 or 8 inches apart, keenly watches a uniformed zoo attendant toss small morsels of food into the cage. The lion alternates between finding the food on the cage floor and reaching through the bars to swipe at the man, who stays alarmingly close to the beast. In the background are the large rocks and brick wall at the back of the lion's habitat.

Three screens display how the day’s light passes by: from the early morning light until late at night. Along with the woman the artist walks through the forest, in the same rhythm, the same pace. Off-screen she looks through the camera, fragmenting time. The age-old androgynous trees are a vertical constant along which the woman moves, as if in an interval between visibility and invisibility, between sound and silence, while the light keeps on evolving metabletically.

In fact, when Valentina suddenly dies, the woman initiates a seduction which eventually coaxes Pierre into her arms. In Cold Clay, Emptiness... an anonymous figure moves in slow motion through an empty and remote rural environment. The figures journey is intercepted by symbolic images - representing visions of society, memory and need - which are explored, but ultimately rejected, leaving the figure to continue on its quest towards an unknown destination.
