Adapting a story from Qing-era writer Pu Sonling’s zhiguai collection “Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio”, A TALE OF THE STOLEN PEACH narrates the traditional Chinese cultural sympathy for the deceased, “finding rest in the blessed kingdom for spectral spirits.”
