She finds her and her husband, Mark McPhillips, murder suspects. Back home, the arrival of an undercover secret agent requires unorthodox help from his retired colleague Philby.

When former TV star Clint Taylor brings his Wild West show into town, murder becomes the featured attraction for bookstore owner Samantha Kinsey.
