My Summer With Irène

Italy, 1997. When Clara and Irène, both 17, meet they are nothing like each other but get on marvellously well. They run away together to a faraway island off the coast of Sicily to live their summer freely, and to hide from a reality they want to forget.

The film tells the story of a couple who, desperately looking for a child, go to Spain to place themselves in the hands of a clinic specializing in assisted reproduction. Their plans will be turned upside down by meeting a seemingly perfect young girl who will offer to carry on the pregnancy for them.

A man is hunted by the people he stole from to feed himself. Another man lurks in the shadows with his bow and arrow to watch over the poor in times of need.
