Joo Hyunjoo, a YouTuber who operates the channel “Horror Express”, manipulates sensational “supernatural phenomena” to create fake streaming contents. For her, who has to take care of her unemployed younger brother, Hyunsoo, and his girlfriend, Kim Soyeon, after his military discharge, “fear” is the family business and the only source of income. Dreaming of the day she receives the Silver Button, she rushes to any spooky location, be it an abandoned school, hospital, or motel. People say she’s fearless. Joo Hyunjoo thinks the real terror is money.
It’s Raining Women
The documentary by Mari Soppela focuses on glass ceilings, a metaphor for the invisible borders between men and women in work life. Talk about glass ceilings is usually associated with women’s opportunities to advance to well paid managerial positions, but the documentary connects itself more broadly to the structural problems of work life from women’s perspective. Glass ceilings are long trials about equal pay, having to continually prove one’s skills, and 85-cent euros. The topic cannot be handled without intersectional crossings: what are invisible glass ceilings for some, are solid concrete for others.

When two Girl Bosses fight each other over territory, their enmity is difficult to solve - they are equals in looks, strength, determination, and power of their respective girl gangs. So, the way is open to a mischievous Yakuza Boss who invites them for a peaceful way to decide their feud: a sexual challenge for him to decide who is the better Girl Boss. Trapped, both are subject to the man's lust and sadistic assaults. They escape by joining forces against the yakuza gang, though it costs one of the young women her life - when she was friends already with her former enemy.
