Johnny, a young man living in the UK, works tirelessly at a restaurant run by his ruthless boss, who values profit over people. Johnny hasn't seen his mother, who lives in Nepal, for five years. The Venice Hongwanji Buddhist Temple had an opportunity to take part in an episode of East of Main Street, an HBO documentary series that has been produced for the past three years to celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. Travelling Hawkers in Frankfurt am Main

A documentary about unemployed people who bought fruit and vegetables at moderate prices at the wholesale market and sold these in the streets of Frankfurt. Since they had no permits they were constantly with their bulky carts on the run from the police. One part of the film was shot at the fairgrounds in front of the wholesale market. Newspaper and lottery ticket vendors, propagandists offering their ware for a few pfennigs, all convey the mood of a time when need made people inventive.

The Birth of Music

The film is an allegory in which the attempt is made to show the inner process of movement of the composer's soul at the time of the birth of music.

All My Tomorrows

A Centron Film presentation, produced by Gordon-Kerchoff, this color film is about a teenage girl who overdoses on alcohol and pills, and winds up in a coma, opens with the girl recovering in a hospital bed. This scare film from 1979 is essentially a public service announcement on the dangers of getting involved in drugs and the horrible effects that using drugs and overdosing can have on an individual and their loved ones.

Nastya

Two women, two destinies, two Nastyas. One is a policewoman, the other a criminal. But who of them is actually in prison? At the basis of the script lies the real story of Nastya Cherepanova, a postwoman from near Nizhni Novgorod, who in 2011 stole pensions from a savings bank and went to search for a better life with her lover.

Suffocated

Nacho and Lucía celebrate 20 years of marriage and decide to celebrate by embarking on a fabulous sailboat. Before the trip, they are assailed by the fear of excessive intimacy and they add Nacho's best friend, Ramiro and his girlfriend Cleo. Although they believed that the new couple would come to save them, in reality it confronts them with everything they have lost. When a storm leaves them adrift, once again alone and without escape in the middle of the sea, Nacho and Lucía face the questions they feared to ask. In addition to raising their teenage daughter, do they still want to spend the next few years of their lives together?

The Secret Six

Bootlegger/cafe owner, Johnny Franks recruits crude working man Scorpio to join his gang, masterminded by crooked criminal defense lawyer Newton. Scorpio eventually takes over Frank's operation, beats a rival gang, becomes wealthy, and dominates the city for several years until a secret group of six masked businessmen have him prosecuted and sent to the electric chair.
