Madakar is an honest police officer who is murdered by a local thug, Babji, and his son Munna. After his death, his daughter is mysteriously left at the door of Sathyaraju, Madakar's lookalike.

Ruth Butler, a clerk in an emporium, marries Jimmy Rutledge and thereby greatly displeases his mother, the owner of the emporium, because of Ruth's lowly origins.
