The multi-formed translucence of a bubble exhibits the world that contains it and is contained by it. The bubble that never bursts is a metaphor of the continuity of things.

The film takes us back to a moving, exciting and unforgettable period in time, the time of Liberation and emancipation. A young teacher – Partisan arrives in a small Serbian town. His wartime, partisan “pedagogy” conflicts with the old methods of work in schools. The children, of course, stand by their teacher, their true friend. The film is a child’s memory and remembrance of an evil, cruel period that left deep imprints in the children’s sensitive and delicate soul of entire generations whose childhood was wounded in the war. The story unfolds over a period of several months, between the fall of 1944 and the summer of 1945, when somewhere far away, in Japan, the atomic bomb is fried to announce a new-atomic era.

Yosef Khoury has been sitting in his messy and chaotic store in Kiryat Malachi for thirty years, repairing watches. Yoseph was a wunderkind, but the development town where he was born is not a place for genius children. Today, he's sixty years old, debts are piling up and the local elections are starting he decides it's time. Against all odds, he decides to run for office and try to right the wrongs in his city and breathe new life into it and his life. But there is one hurdle that Joseph wants to cross: to receive the blessing of his father Victor.

The Telegraph Route

This French film chronicles the amazing-but-true story of Lisa Alling who in 1928 successfully walked from New York City to Siberia via the Bering Straight by following telegraph poles. It was shot entirely in the Ukraine. Lisa, a chambermaid, has had enough of American life and wants go home to Siberia. Because she had no money, she decided it was better to walk than stay in the U.S. any longer. An opportunist, she takes whatever food, warmth and even romance that is offered along the way.
