From the mountains of upstate New York, through the ports of Baltimore, down to the marshlands of Louisiana and out through the desert ending in Los Angeles 3000 miles away.

Rancher Clay Travers finds and brings in the body of ranger Frank Mattison, murdered on the road to Trail City, where he had been sent to deal with an outbreak of cattle rustling.
