Bad news for Irmi Sandgruber: her son Franz has become engaged to her arch-enemy, the scheming Viktoria; it also turns out that Irmi is up to her ears in debt after a failed loan speculation. Hansi and his wife Regina search in vain for a solution. Viktoria offers to pay off the debts if Irmi and Hansi transfer the deer park to her in return. This threatens to cause a final rift between Hansi and the embittered Franz.
