Ich war ja auch wer - Chefkoch Hermann Reußner, Jahrgang 1891, erzählt aus seinem Leben
A life story from a bygone era. In a retirement home, the 90-year-old Hermann Reußner tells his story. He was born in 1891 in Dessau, back when a duke still reigned there. As a soldier under the German emperor, he participated in World War I. Reußner talks about his beginnings as a cook in the famous hotel Adlon at the Pariser Platz in Berlin. Later, he was head chef there for 30 years. This private life story gets impressively illustrated with photos and film footage.

The Mine
A film dedicated to miners, showing the hardship and risk of working in a mine. Devoid of verbal commentary, it draws its impact from the form: suggestive cinematography close to the pre-war avant-garde, dynamic editing closely linked to music. Brzozowska was accused of formalism at the 1949 Congress of Filmmakers in Wisła, where socialist realism was proclaimed.

Luke and Emma and a Gas Station on Franklin Ave
Luke and Emma and a Gas Station Franklin Ave is a semi-autobiographical short film. Luke is mixed Asian-American, and Emma is white, and they live in 1986 small town America. They have an incidental meeting in the parking lot of a local convenience store while waiting for Luke's Thai mother and Emma's white American father to shop. It's clear they both have crushes on each other, but they proceed with caution as they have an innate understanding of the community 's prejudices reflected by their parents' interactions inside.
