Paul McCartney: Live at the Cavern Club
On December 14, 1999, 300 people squeezed into the Cavern Club in Liverpool to watch Paul McCartney perform at The Beatles' legendary venue for the first time since 1963. Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour and Deep Purple drummer Ian Paice were among the other great musicians joining Paul on stage. Rashidi juxtaposes the lead character’s apparently revealing monologues with scenes and images that layer the film with ambiguity. Its deliberate, hypnotic pace and boldly experimental structure result in an unusual and challenging view of its unsettling subject.
