Gerda 85
Shot in eleven days in the countryside of Southern Belgium, Gerda 85 is the first feature-length movie made by Patricia Gélise and Nicolas Deschuyteneer. Inspired by their own lives, they draw a portrait of a young girl in the mid-1980s. This low-budget and self-produced movie travels though Gerda's interior life in the particular context of those somewhat troubled times. The film is part of that branch of independent film which is working to discover a free form made from ruptures and experiments Saturated with the music of its time - New Wave from the beginning of the 80s - the movie is also a portrait of fractured youth, trying to make sense of a life crossed by a history of disillusionment.

Beehive
A woman's blunt testimony as she narrates her experience of violence and trauma before and after her time in prison clashes against the landscape behind her, which epitomizes the many other layers of violence that she endured. While looking at the camera, the woman plays tarot cards for humanity (and to ourselves, who watch her as if her counter-plan, as if were asking the cards) and reveals news of the end of the world. Of this world. "If the sky falls on our heads, that's where we shall live."
Er Moretto – Von Liebe leben
The exploitation of young men as prostitutes in the district around the Roman coliseum is the focus of Simon Bischoff's documentary and fiction piece that spares no close-up view of male anatomy. This latter trait reveals just as much about the tenor of this film as it does about the body. Several years earlier, Bischoff met the main 17-year-old protagonist here, "Er Moretto," when he was just a 13-year-old runaway. The intervening years show how he changed into a streetwise vendor of sex, and Bischoff also details how the 17-year-old is picked up by a middle-aged man to be his companion. Fiction segments do not fare as well as the documentary aspects of this work, which in the end, seems at least ambiguous, if not questionable, in its intent.
