My Granny's House
Danish author Soya's acidly funny turn-of-the-century memoir novel turned into a robust black comedy. She also wants to make him sole heir to her fortune, which everybody else covets. Mutual respect, even love, develops between the two. And death by poison enlivens things.

Girl In Captivity: Psycho Torture Chamber
Sakurano plays a girl named Kimika who wakes up chained up in a dark boiler room, unsure of how she got there. She’s soon approached by a strange large man wearing a mask and using a creepy voice changer. The girl is the daughter of Daisuke (Kenji Ezure), the shrewd president of a general contracting company. Daisuke was too occupied with an ongoing sexual fling with his secretary (Asami) to notice that his daughter was missing at first, and his relationship with her was already strained due to a certain incident in the past, but when he receives a threatening phone call he eventually recognizes the gravity of the situation. Eventually, Kimika begins to calm down as her fear slowly turns into a perverse attraction to this strange person holding her captive. What is the kidnapper’s motive? And what is his true form? In the basement of a certain building, insanity merges with obscenity as the plot unfolds.

Bella Donna
That old theatrical war-horse Bella Donna (previously filmed in America by Alla Nazimova) was resurrected by Britain's Twickenham Studios in 1934. Conrad Veidt stars as sinister Egyptian Mahmoud Baroundi, who even before the film gets under way has left a long trail of ruined women behind him. His latest victim is American girl Mona Chepstow (Mary Ellis), whom Baroundi treats like dirt and makes her like it. The plot centers around a murder by poison, as evidenced by the film's deliberately exotic title. Critics in 1934 praised newcomer Mary Ellis for underplaying her role, but many film fans preferred Nazimova's arm-waving histrionics in the earlier version.

Clair de Lune
"Clair de Lune" was fully animated and scored when it was deleted from Fantasia in early 1940, a casualty of Fantasia's excessive length. In February 1942, inking, painting and technicolor photography were completed for "Clair de Lune" as a short subject, but it was not released. In 1946 it was edited , reshaped and re-scored as the popular music sequence "Blue Bayou" in "Make Mine Music". Previous attempts to recreate "Clair de Lune" were frustrated by missing animation and Stokowski footage. A nitrate workprint of the original version located in 1992 has allowed "Clair de Lune" to be completely reconstructed as Walt Disney intended it to be seen.
