Mighty Fine

Set in the 1970's, MIGHTY FINE is the story of Joe Fine (Chazz Palminteri) a charismatic, high-spirited man, who relocates his family--wife Stella (Andie MacDowell), a Holocaust survivor, daughters Nathalie (Jodelle Ferland) and Maddie (Rainey Qualley)--from Brooklyn to New Orleans, in search of a better life. Unfortunately, Joe's spending spree is wildly out of touch with reality, as his apparel business is teetering on the brink of collapse, a fact he refuses to accept. Written and directed by Debbie Goodstein, MIGHTY FINE is told from the perspective of an adult Nathalie remembering the events of her youth, and is inspired by Goodstein's memories of her own father. MIGHTY FINE ultimately shows how coming to terms with the past without judgment is the most fruitful way to move toward the future.

Pencil Test

A pencil tool escapes from the Macintosh interface when no one can see it, as it wants to take a closer look to a wooden pencil on a desk. Afterwards, it attempts to get back onto the screen but the computer has been turned off by an unseen human presence. The pencil tool finally manages to turn on the computer but when it tries to return to the software programme is no longer possible and ends up smacking onto the screen. After the credits, you can hear a sound of the screen shattering.

Zé Celso: Tupy or not Tupy

From the testimonies of Zé Celso himself, and excerpts from the play "Walmor Y Cacilda 64 - Robogolpe", which contains autobiographical elements, as well as from essays and scenes from older pieces by him, it is possible to know a little more about the life of the irreverent author. Playwright, director, actor and musician, Zé Celso began his career in amateur theater while still a student at the end of the 1950s. He "ate" the work of Oswald de Andrade and as an anthropophage, was one of Tropicália's founders.
