She has to separate herself from everything material. To become a little “specialist” from being a person of instinct. But with each lesson, the daughter understands the world around her a little more. And then, one day, she decides to put her knowledge to very practical use.

The boy is in the back of the car. The parents sit in the front and argue. Once again. The argument gets louder, more complicated. Until the boy can't take it anymore and leaves the car. While walking on a highway bridge he finds a stone. He looks down at the street with so many cars passing under him. Suddenly he sees a car in which something that seems all too familiar is happening. And what he just can't take anymore.

Filmed April 12, 2003 at a benefit concert held at and for The Anthology Film Archives, the international center for the preservation, study, and exhibition of avant-garde and independent cinema. In addition to screening films for the public, AFA houses a film museum, research library and art gallery. The event, which raised money for the Archives and celebrated the life and work of avant-garde film maker Stan Brakhage, featured Sonic Youth providing an improvised instrumental collaboration with silent Brakhage’s films. The band performed with drummer/percussionist Tim Barnes (Essex Green, Jukeboxer, Silver Jews).
